Aloha, We Are Doing Good.

Even though there are some folks who don't seem to care, we the people are being responsible to ourselves and others. The aloha and taking care of one another as seen on local TV is heart rending.


One of the blessings we have during this pandemic is free flow of data. Data is the language of science. Careful objective analysis of the data provides information that can withstand the most rigorous scrutiny. You will seldom here a scientist talking in superlatives.


Hawai‘i is doing a great job. It is more than flattening the curve, it is lowering it. What this means is the number of persons incubating and shedding virus is decreasing.


Good news indeed, but we are not yet free. Notice the spike in cases on April 20th. That is what we call a cluster. One of two infected persons working side by side in a fast food restaurants, went home and infected family members, who in turn infected others. It can happen very quickly. There were many other practices at the restaurants that promoted virus transmission. Testing and contact follow up is the key to control.
